Entire brigade surrenders in Mariupol
We’ll get to the main heading subject, soon. First, about Mariupol…
Elements of the Ukrainian armed forces together with some of the Azov attempted a big breakout from Mariupol yesterday, evidently with no clear idea as to how to get back to Ukrainian lines, at least 90 kilometers away.
Some got out of the city, but had to leave their vehicles behind (after many of those were destroyed by artillery or from the air), and were then killed or captured in the woods or fields outside Mariupol.
The below video shows a radio jamming platoon (or what’s left of a radio jamming company, it’s not clear) that had been part of or attached to the 36th Separate Marine Infantry Brigade.
In the video, they are being gently grilled by one of Russia’s leading war correspondents, who asks them about their situation before the breakout, how the breakout went, what treatment the wounded received from Russian or Donetsk medics, etc.
The bearded man at around 0:52 claims to be a zampolit a.k.a. a commissar or political officer, although he claims not to have been trained as such—i.e. he was only “acting” in that role.
The Russian journalist (who mentions he did receive such training, way back) is surprised to discover that such a function still exists. “Don’t turn around, Der Kommissar’s in town!“
A separate captive group of the 36th Brigade is shown in the photo below. This is just a small part of the whole.
Reportedly, two entire battalions (or their remains) of the 36th surrendered today. Another battalion surrendered some days ago, as I had brought to your attention.
Thus, essentially the sole remaining resistance in Mariupol is now an estimated 1500 men of the Azov, who are dug in (likely with some foreign advisors who were trapped with them in the city) at the steel factory.
Poland “attacks” Belarus border post
This is an advocacy piece. I am asking for “maximum re-post”, maximum involvement. This is your chance to help stop a much bigger war.
The MSM won’t do it. It has to be you. Please do it for my kids, your kids, grandkids, whatever.
A few days ago—and I’m not sure it was the first time—Polish uniformed personnel “attacked” a Belarus border post.
In the short video clip below, one Polish serviceman shoots a slingshot (see around 0:27) and others shine lasers and a stroboscopic lamp, towards the Belarussian position.
You might think this is not serious.
It is serious. This is an international border. Unless you think the Polish border guard (or army, or whoever this is) is a hooligan rabble, they would not be doing this without orders.
Imagine if Mexico’s army did this to the U.S. Border Guard, how would Americans feel? (We know the cartels do much worse, but they’re not the government, so Mexico gets a pass.)
Next, the Poles may deploy a watermelon catapult, or sound warfare, or tear gas, or whatever, and someone on the Belarussian side will get hurt, or worse.
Poland will say, “It’s just a catapult!”, but if it breaks someone’s neck, Belarus would have to respond…..
…..And then it’s “NATO Article 5”, and the 10,000-plus U.S. military personnel in Poland, most located within 30 miles of the Ukrainian or Belarussian borders (for just such an eventuality), get drawn into it. Not to mention, just now I got video of this U.S. or German (these are not in the Polish arsenal) howitzer train—at least two batteries’ worth—moving into Poland.
In short, the border actions are a provocation.
This is one step in a campaign of escalation.
Poland has been trying to pull off a regime change in Belarus since 2020.
Claims that Uncle Sam is directly behind the regime change efforts are mostly false. It’s Poland, with Lithuania and Germany in second place.
In response, Belarus had been facilitating a wave of chaotic illegal migration of Iraqis and others into Poland, however, that more or less stopped, many months ago.
Recently, a team of railway saboteurs was arrested in Belarus; one of the three resisted and was shot (not killed.) They were found to have a pistol and some professional radio gear. I have videos of their apprehension and the damage they caused, but it’s not that interesting.
It’s likely they were operating under pay and orders from Polish intelligence. The railway is a target because it moves Russian army gear.
Poland’s intelligence service has set up a virtual “front group” called BYPOL, allegedly consisting of Belarussian security personnel who want to see a democratic Belarus blah blah.
BYPOL claims to have a large network of officials “on the inside” in Belarus. It’s probably imaginary.
Even if BYPOL is not 100-percent fake, it’s a front. You know who is writing the checks and pulling the strings.
BYPOL “exists” so that any sabotage or subversion inside Belarus can be “plausibly denied” by Poland. Like, “It wasn’t us, it was BYPOL.” Then if Belarus retaliates, it’s the aggressor and… NATO Article 5.
BYPOL’s English-language website is here. It’s ridiculously slick, probably made in the USA, or with the help of an American PR firm.
Poland has been looking to expand its influence over its neighbors.
Much of Belarus and the Ukraine were controlled by Poland from the 1400s to the early 1700s, and then western Belarus and northwest Ukraine were occupied by Poland again from 1919 to 1939.
Now, Poland wants it back.
Don’t just take my word for it. Polish-American tweeter Jack Posobiec—1.7 million followers, and a regular on Steve Bannon’s show—has been calling for a renewed Polish empire for over a year.
A retired commander of Polish ground forces recently told Poland’s leading tabloid that Russia’s isolated Kaliningrad enclave (formerly the northern 40 percent of East Prussia, taken by the USSR in 1944-45) is rightfully Polish and must be conquered.
That’s the sort of crap that is going around in their media space. Their public is being primed for intervention and expansion.
In recent weeks, Poland has mobilized at least an entire infantry division (with the help of U.S. trainers) to move into northwest Ukraine, to “protect” the Ukrainians, even though the Ukraine-Russia fighting is hundreds of miles away.
A few military targets in this part of the Ukraine have been bombed, but no one seriously thinks Russia wants—or would be able to—move its ground forces into the area anytime soon. If the war comes here, unlikely as that is, it is still months away.
So far, the European Union and NATO Command have told Poland, “No!”
That may change if something heats up on the Poland-Belarus border.
If Poland and Belarus start fighting, that would be bad enough, it would involve NATO and possibly nuclear weapons. But (if we’re still here), Poland would also have some pretext and political cover to move into northwest Ukraine and establish a long-term protectorate there.
(This “expeditionary force” would be supported by NATO Patriot missile batteries now deployed in Slovakia.)
That’s their goal. That’s likely what this Belarus border drama is about.
Everyone must understand now, if the Russia-Ukraine war gets “out of control”, and turns into a broader Russia-NATO war, or a nuclear war, it won’t be thanks to Brandon.
It would be thanks to Poland.
For a very long time, in our MSM, the Poles have been “good elves”—they are pure, holy, they overcame communism with their rosaries and holy water, blah blah. They can do no wrong. That won’t change.

If Europe won’t do it, Uncle Sam needs to pull on Poland’s leash, tell them to cut it out.

Thanks. Approval can be explicit or implicit or implied, or seen to be implied. Brandon doesn’t quite seem to be fully awake, and his crew may or may not have a handle on everything. And, when you have a side that is bent on provocation, things can escalate very quickly, and the USA could conceivably be pulled into something it didn’t want, but can’t back out of, for ego and prestige reasons. (It wouldn’t be the first time.)

This scenario is, of course, more than provocative, it’s dangerous because it’s utterly fantastical. Russia doesn’t have or plan to have ‘low-yield nuclear weapons.’ Russia does have more nuclear warheads than any other country, and it also has an ability to deploy salvos of more than 500 nuclear missiles at a time, both from the ground, air or sea, but its doctrine says clearly that it will only use its nukes if it perceives a potential for unacceptable damage to itself. Don’t kid yourself. There won’t be any ‘limited response’ because even conventional Russian super- and hypersonic weapons won’t leave anybody to make this response possible if it comes to the point of ‘an unacceptable damage’ to Russia.
There would be a response, if for no other reason than that there are USN submarines that would not be harmed in any nuclear surprise attack. “The only winning move is not to play.”
Appreciate your comment on Posobiec. I no longer watch Bannon but the first time I heard of Donbass was a Posobiec rant on the evils of Putin, etc., as Ukraine issue was ramping up. After watching Putin’s speeches and more research, I discarded Posobiec as an objective voice.
Query: do you see any connection between the Poland threat and Biden’s April 12 escalatory statement that Russian forces are engaged in genocide but with a subsequent qualifier to let the international lawyers figure that one out. Having observed that Biden’s statements can be predictive, I wonder whether this is signals an intent to begin working on a finding of genocide to pave the way for US/ NATO intervention.

While I won’t discount the control US decisionmaking has over its vassals, of which Poland is a fine example, you’re also right in pointing out the “wag the dog” potential they have. Poles in particular, with the levels of visceral Russophobia sadly highly present in their society and culture. One of my ancestor branches comes precisely from at-the-time Polish-held Belarus, and I personally dearly wish we Russians could live at peace with them, but with uncanny stubbornness they just keep choosing to bash themselves near to death against us over and over again. I wish they could learn to bloody well leave dreams of conquest alone and achieve things through peaceful integration, but… we just don’t live in that kind of world.

Teodoro, good words about the need to keep NATO out of Russian-Ukrainian conflict, but very uninformed statements about Poland. For one thing, Poland has been vehemently anti-Russian for centuries, mostly because it has lost all its territorial wars against Russia. And secondly, the USSR was one of the winners in the WWII, and as such it received its own security zone around its borders (the US also received a huge zone of influence, which included Italy, although Europe is near-where near the US). As for Polish people, perhaps had they didn’t collaborate with Hitler, the USSR wouldn’t have to worry about leaving them to their own devices after 1945.

Ribbentrop- Molotv pact was signed in Rapallo, Italy before the start of WWII. Teodoro, Poland was the FIRST country that signed a treaty with Hitler, It happened in 1934, 5 year before the USSR did. Moreover, Stalin was the last European leader to sign a treaty – in hopes to delay an attack on his country which had by then obviously been prepared, and the treaty bought Stalin 2 years to get ready. Meanwhile, the Polish government before WWII was instigating Western powers to attack the USSR, was in constant negotiations on this subject, and was a willing party to Germany in dividing up Czechoslovakia.Pilsudsky admired Hitler and had his portrait in his office. Look it up. You won’t find photos of Stalin with Hitler, because they never met, but the photos of smiling Pilsudsky shaking hands with Hitler are a historic fact. His Polish Army Krayova collaborated with the Germans and fought against anti-fascists forces and Soviet partisans and Polish Army Ludowa (i.e volunteers who fought alongside the Soviet Army).
I don’t know about the Home Army “collaborating” with the Germans, but, Poland’s victim status is of course a mythology. That Poland joined with Germany in invading Czechoslovakia has been conveniently overlooked by the propaganda. When Putin spoke publicly of it last year, a number of our pundits and think-tankers here in the USA had proverbial strokes or heart attacks.

@Sacramento – Poland signed a non-aggression pact with Germany in 30s not a treaty. Pilsudski was a prisoner of Germans in Magdeburg tower. He knew who the enemy is. First educate yourself and then post comments.
Until NeoNaziNato can not hide behind a proxy like Ukraint and the death and destruction is brought home to them, they will continue to escalate. Europeans overwhelmingly want no part of this war but as vassal states with no say they are being forced by their puppet governments. Any nato country providing weapons is a party to this war and when faced with the destruction of power plants will be overthrow and forced out of office by a rebellious population in no way willing to suffer let alone die for Ukraint.
