Can we assume that most civilians were evacuated from Severodonetsk while the Russians held all of the commercial/residential areas? If the Ukes want to make one last push there the Russians may just back out of town and saturate the area with artillery. Lots of infrastructure damage but it may be worth it to inflict a major defeat on the Ukes, especially since these troops are nationalist heavy.
The US will say Ukraine decided to surrender it was their decision. Back to before the “inflict pain on Russia,” and all the American minions will believe poor Ukranians tried their best. Then Russia as a conquerer could still be hated. Maybe even more. The U S will not change the narrative of America the good. facing an unfathomable world of enemies.

Allegedly DC, London and Brussels are working on a “negotiated settlement” (amongst themselves, behind Ukraine’s back) to offer Russia. Now, given the vitriol, spite and hatred they have directed towards Russia, economically, culturally and militarily, am I alone in thinking that when the time comes, given that Vlad is already holding every ace in the deck (and one or two up his sleeve), it will be a remake (sans violence) of that epic bar scene at the end of Unforgiven?
The hubris and lack of self-awareness of that which they have been engaged in requires more than a modicum of payback, and aside from the Ukraine itself, I cannot imagine begging Putin to take back his $300b in frozen foreign reserves is going to cut the mustard.

Biden/US administration can’t find reverse or pause. To even pivot for them on Ukr/Russia seems a stretch too far. I suspect that they may attempt to shift the spotlight to other issues with MSM support and quietly try negotiating with Russia on some deal, but I don’t feel Russia (or China) will be in the mood to do favors for Dems midterm prospects.
Biden/US administration is an avalanche of incompetence and corruption. The November election will be about the economy for voters.

About the “,map”, an information i got when i was 45 is that not everyone learns the same way, there are 3 different ways: the video, the audio and the kinesthetic. It is tough for someone who learns with video to keep focuses on audio.Even if what you or the duran talk about is interesting , for someone who learns with video we disconnect.The best example i can give you is i almost never asleep with Alex (whan he walks in the cities) but it happens often with Alexander (even if Alexander has a better level). While western clamour for negotiations remains muted, I feel when this time comes Russia will be more reluctant to make concessions, too much blood has been spilt, this cannot avoid contaminating the soil in which compromise must grow. I feel the collective west must learn some hard lessons over its behaviours and attitudes towards Russia and its President, I welcome that reverse because for far too long, led by the United States, it has acted without regard to anyone else.
All of the fake news reporters should be hanged. Tens of thousands of people’s lives are lost because of their evil.

I heartily second that recommendation. Military Summary and Analysis was early with the call that the Russians took Tatyanovka – based on his own analysis of observations in social media, not any official pronouncements – and with full recognition of its ramifications: the rapid collapse of the Ukrainian positions in Studenov and Sviatogorsk, and outflanking the Ukrainian defenses blocking the advance from the west, Bogorodychne and Dolnya. This could be the beginning of the end of Ukrainians holding Slavyansk.
T read now that USA and EU intend to use oil from Iran and Venezuela as a replacement for Russian oil?

I think Jacob is setting himself up to be wrong when he predicts that Washington will walk back the near-genocidal intensity of its anti-Russian propaganda. The neocons/neoliberals who control the American Federal Government, it’s foreign policy, and every non-elected bureaucracy within it, never admit mistakes or row anything back. And they hate Russia more than anything else on this planet.
They can afford not to have to walk anything back because the people they’ve turned into zombies via their saturation-bombing anti-Russian propaganda are not the sort of people who will remember or want to remember any of this a few weeks or months down the line.
And to guarantee that they will not remember it, they’ll have been herded along at a brisk trot (like the sheep they are) on to the next mesmerizing object the government wants to put in front of them as fully deserving of all their hatred. We’ve all read about this totalitarian technique in Orwell’s masterpiece, 1984.
The American masses will forget all the sooner because mainstream media and Big Tech will also implement a studied “radio silence” when it comes to the whole subject of Ukraine. It will disappear down an epistemic rabbit hole for most Americans.
