Hello again everyone. I was invited back to the Coffee And A Mike podcast, the one that’s interviewed all those famous names including Trump’s spokeswoman, Kari Lake, Giuliani, Bannon’s daughter, and many others.

In this one, I’m in TOP form, and you will be entertained. You can skip ahead to 6:10 if you don’t want the intro chitchat.
In this podcast, I slam the low-IQ crowd that blames everyone and everything EXCEPT Republican party leadership for a lackluster election performance.
This is from the weekend, so it predates the reaffirmation of Kevin “Deer in the Headlights” McCarthy and Mitch “The Manchurian Turtle” McConnell to their leadership positions within their respective caucuses.
It also predates Ted Cruz coming out strongly against McConnell.
It further predates the party establishment (in the face of some big donors) coming out openly against Trump and his “MAGA candidates” as the alleged cause of the GOP’s failure to take the Senate.
That’s obviously a “narrative.”
It’s a narrative that ignores McConnell’s (and McCarthy’s) choice, since 2021…..
…..to NOT nail the GOP down to any particular vision, agenda, or commitments…..
…..instead running on Brandon’s poor record alone, with no solutions…..
…..but even shaky as THAT was, the communications were still mixed, with some candidates more about “fighting the libs”, not even talking so much about Brandon’s failures.
IMHO, if you have a vision, agenda, and commitments, the candidates will sort themselves out, get on the needed track (to one extent or another.)
That gives you a National Brand… and that’s synergy, a “force multiplier” against the Democrats’ perennial, massive advantage in fundraising.
In that case, Trump could be an endorsement, and perhaps a funding stream, but (like in Virginia 2021), he would otherwise be not very much relevant.
With a definite vision and stated agenda (not just “here’s what we’re gonna talk about”)…..
…..at a minimum, Republicans should’ve picked up at least 40 House seats, in line with the historical norm, given a tough economy.
With no definite agenda, it’s just about personality and voter emotions…..
…..and we know the suburban white female vote in particular, is fickle, emotional, and tends towards Democrats unless given some reason NOT to.
But hey, what do I know?
I’ve only been saying since 2021, don’t count on a big red tsunami if you communicate no agenda and no solutions.

Love yer “wry” what’s really happening commentary: knowing more about the “Repuglicans” than the “Dumbocrats” adds insights. And speaking Russian adds cred to yer Ukro war analyses too. But, really, when it comes down to it, both U.S. political parties are owned by monopoly corporations, Wall Street, the MIComplex, various oligarchs and the Israeli lobbies. The American public has no power whatsoever to influence national power and policies. Aside from “style,” it doesn’t matter who is President, as the above players (and their excesses) have already set the stage for Act Three (the demise) of the American Empire. Just my opinion, of course . . .
Well TBH, it’s not just your opinion. It’s not just mine either, i.e., that our government is “owned and operated” by the rich and powerful, monied interests. Now gone global. Maybe always was global.
Great minds have long pointed out that here in “our democracy” everything possible has been done to marginalize the participation of common people in government, legislation, policy, …, heck everything and anything they do. They want us out of it to greatest extent humanly possible.
That is specifically why “voting” is such hyped up B-class drama. Even if we really did have the cleanest and most legitimate elections in human history, outside of irrelevant issues (e.g., equal access to cake), the course rarely changes in our favor or even reflects what “most” people want (if that can even be quantified).
From what I understand from the “MAGA Wing” of the Republican party, they see the current leadership of the party as people who don’t want to win and don’t want to lead. They want their cushy jobs, which they will lose if the Turmpers actually do take over the party.
A political party is going to have a hard time winning an election when the party itself is in the midst of a civil war.
I appreciate your analysis of the Kherson situation, including identifying the intersection you describe.

Dear Jacob, I confess that I could not read entirely your last production “bomb skull”.. As a french guy, my english language, mix of school books and songs of beatles, Stones, Bob Dylan etc.. is not convenient to understand everything you tell.
It was ok for me as long as you talk about war, about health care or health not-care… but it’s really too difficult for me to follow the text when it’s question of local politics of America. The concept itself is difficult to understand for us. We, in France, seemingly have decided that slavery is more convenient than freedom. We “elected” a small Napoléon 0,5 (yes, really smaller than the genuine one). that’ all. who is who in America, what means what….??? Even the concept of “Brandon” was not easy to integrate for me.

I read RedState on occasion. I’ve become less of a fan because they buy the Ukraine bullshit and some of their authors are just now starting to sober up after the midterm “hangover”. Some are writing about what you’re saying here but not all.
I wrote to the editor right after Trump’s loss in 2020, giving my opinion on how conservatives need to stop playing this game and really need to reinvent themselves. I was largely dismissed by their editor (Streiff) at the time. Granted, I’m just another “rando” with an opinion.
But here we are. The “crazy” conservatives and libertarians were all shouted down because Trump, MAGA, TDS, election fraud, FJB, on and on. And once again, the Republicans have failed not only their own base but indeed the entire country.
I post in the comments things like “STFU about MAGA” or about “election fraud”. Get over Trump — it was fun while it lasted and that’s DONE. I get no traction. Maybe a stray like or two. Oh well, I guess that most people need to learn the hard way and drag the rest of us with them.

I have been saying this myself. Trump filled a vacuum in the Repub Party from the get-go. They still don’t have anyone to challenge him (except, now, DeSantis). But he is much weaker now. If there were a Republican “leadlership” and if they had any brains, they would figure out a way to use Trump as a fundraiser, “endorser,” etc. —as long as he stays on topic. But there does not appear to be any such leadershp, and it is also questionable that Trump would submit to any such party discipline and take a secondary role. “Eminence grise” is simply not in his DNA. So, we will probably never find out whether Trump has or had any potential within the Republican Party to move it forward into a useful proactive position. I agree that just running on “not Brandon” was as stupid as the Dems runing on “but Trump!” But the Dems own the vote counters and the media, so they can sort of make that work. .
If the Mitch and Kevin and the RINO GOP ran on their vision, i.e. endless war, bad trade deals, deficit spending, open borders, amnesty for illegals, slow walking conservative judge appointments, they would lose.

Trump is back and just in time. Things are heating up with Iran and Israel will need its truest friend in the White House. Besides, it will be a delight to have Mike Pompeo and John Bolton running US foreign policy again. Maybe they’ll ambush and assassinate Putin. My personal wtf moment was when he talked about the Jihad against drug dealers, since we know that he didn´t mean the CIA and further that the DOJ nowadays is a weapon vs the part of the population with at least some spine we´d see at lot of “Extremist drug dealing Wipipo” getting a speedy trial and the Guillotine if that went through. The way I see it the US Republican Party was unable to present a coherent message because it is completely split & divided…. locked in a political civil war. The Establishment Republicans vs Trump & MAGA. In fact Trump & MAGA are up against the entire Western Establishment which is completely owned by the Western capitalist oligarchs – the neoliberal capitalist aristocracy. The US and the West generally is a Classical Republic system – ie an Oligarchy with a light veneer of democracy to keep the serfs placated.
I support Trump & MAGA because they are populist and nationalist. I support Putin for the same reasons; Putin is MAGA in Russia… like Orban in Hungary. None of these leaders is perfect or ideal as human beings (which of us is) but I support their policies of populism and nationalism. They stand against the corporate globalists (the capitalist aristocracy) who want a post-national or transnational global order ruled by transnational institutions which are privately controlled (ie by them). Institutions such as the IMF, WHO, World Bank etc. They call it the rules based international order – they make the rules and everyone else follows their orders.
At the global level that is what MAGA means to me. What is at stake is how our world will be managed and ordered in the decades ahead. Will we develop an international system based on sovereign nation states – or some form of a globalist transnational corporate feudalism.
Finally got around to the podcast. So what do we know? Our host has a uncanny track record for making accurate predictions, and he is now predicting very hard times ahead in the near future. This includes fiscal unsustainability, emergence of a killer Covid strain, impotence of the Feds to fix the problem, and existential threat (will Brandon succeed in starting WW3). What to do? Well, we now know that voting harder doesn’t work, and even if it did, there are no messiahs on the political horizon that have the power to fix anything. But you can strive to survive the interregnum. Find a safe haven away from the big city, stock it, get fit, improve your aim, and get into Danial Boone mode. It sure beats pissing and moaning about things you cannot change.

All the EU economic projections still think of the relative proportion of certain sectors within the economy, couple per cent here or there. They cannot wrap their head around physical entities, like not having enough precursors for all the down hill value chains. It’s like drinking water. I spend only 0.001% of my income on it, but it’s going to move my life 100% if I go without for a week.
The silly oil extinction activists think their thing is SO important, but they cannot think in terms of how many human lives you are willing to sacrifice: for them costs are just another life-style preference.
The failure of the Russian sanctions were actually presaged by the earlier Crimea & Novichok sanctions. Short-term price pain, but longer term it stimulated Russia’s underdeveloped agricultural sector and food processing, while proving to be a long-term loss for EU exporters. Now Russia is producing a Russia only commercial plane, with US lifting the sanctions on Boeing parts to save the day.

Did you read Kunstler’s piece today? I am an avid fan of his. He’s not correct about everything buy who the fuck is? I don’t think he’s being hyperbolic when he suggests that this FTX fiasco has tentacles. But he is the only one I have heard suggest that FTX could be a contagion which affects other financial institutions.

It’s a good piece. I don’t think the FTX has deep tentacles (not that will be brought to light, anyway) any more than Madoff’s ponzi fraud had tentacles, but it’s a sign of the times, isn’t it? The weakest ponzis always fall first.
