As promised by the new mgmt, it appears that the U.S. General Services Administration’s (GSA) Public Buildings Service, which (per its website) manages or rents 359 million square feet of real estate for 1.1 million Federal employees, is being largely dismantled, beginning this (Monday, March 3rd) evening. IT systems shut down, reportedly 600 personnel placed on paid leave pending downsizing, multiples of that number are in the pipeline. As yet, all that the new mgmt has offered by way of maintaining operations is vague (no evident plan) talk of efficiencies, “reduced service”, and AI. Note that the GSA is largely self-funding (i.e. costs nothing), thus probably not mandated by Congress, thus does not exist in law, thus is a VERY easy target. – TheDreizinReport.com
