Yesterday was December 17th.
On December 17th, 1992, Israel, under Yitzhak Rabin, “deported” over 400 Hamas leaders and members across the border into Lebanon. These included now-“known” names such as Ismail Haniyeh, Mahmoud al-Zahar, the late Abdel Aziz Rantisi, and the late Said Seyam.
The men were not accepted by Lebanon. They were given (by Lebanon) tents, bedding, food, etc., and forced to live in a ravine just across the border from Israel.
I was 14 years old, and I remember it well. It was all over CNN. CNN was there, on the ground. It was the biggest international news on CNN, for several weeks.
I do not recall presentation of any Israeli claim that these men were dangerous, or members of a nasty group, let alone, “Islamic fundamentalists.” This was before even the first World Trade Center attack—no one even knew what fundamentalists were. If there was any Israeli comment, it was barely highlighted. The feeling was, these are dissidents or just some unlucky guys. Poor, stateless guys, nowhere to go.
Eventually, the new Clinton administration forced Israel to take all these men back into Gaza or the West Bank… where they formed the leadership nucleus of Hamas as we know it today.
Folks, as I’ve said more than once, THE USA IS NO FRIEND OF ISRAEL.
Anything you might hear from U.S. politicians about Holocaust sob sob, special responsibility blah blah, is BULLSHIT.
Since 1973, Israel has been caught within the web of U.S. imperial entanglements, and so it won’t be simply abandoned. Same as Lithuania or whatever. This is a matter of U.S. “credibility.” Of course, Jews on the Democrat side, and, to a lesser extent, Christian Zionists on the Republican side, are also a big help.
But when the rubber meets the road, the U.S. has its own interests. The Jews always get their Israel money, but otherwise, they are always left sucking a dick.
The USA’s main interest in Israel’s immediate region (I’m talking about Israel’s direct neighbors), is to keep the region from blowing up, so the USA doesn’t have to hear about it, doesn’t have to deal with it (other than, writing checks every year, to most of those countries.)
If a few Jews, or a few hundred, or, over the long term, a thousand or several thousand or more Jews, have to die to (try to) make that happen… at least, happen for a short while…. oh well.
Today, over Netanyahu’s strong objections, the Brandonites are planning to bring the security forces of the West Bank Palestinian government, back into Gaza.
The same forces that, while they still ran Gaza, let Hamas use Gaza as a base against Israel.
The same forces that are, today, at least at the “rank and file” level, totally infested and infiltrated by Hamas activists.
Sounds dumb?
Well, for the U.S., the alternative is to create another “coalition of the billing”—led and paid for by the U.S.—to garrison Gaza.
Does the U.S. need such problems?
No.
It’s preferable to pay the West Bank government to deal with it, just like, it’s better to have the Ukraine fight Russia, “so we don’t have to.”

So, yes, sure, the Brandonites support what Israel is doing about Gaza, today. It’s a matter of showing Iran and any “bad Arabs” and other baddies (Russia, China), that they have to keep the terrorism and the “challenge to global order”….. “within reason.” Don’t overdo it!!!
But when it’s over, the Brandonites will STEAMROLL Netanyahu, or whoever governs Israel at that time.
If you’re not hearing this level of SUBLIME TRUTHINESS from other commentators (let alone, the MSM), it’s because they are flatworms and I am a living god.
