In THE largest full-on layoffs (not buyouts as with Nissan) in U.S. higher value-added manufacturing of 2025 so far, Microchip Technology and Onsemi, U.S.-based global integrated circuit manufacturers which are heavily dependent on FREE-FALLING automobile-related orders, have since February 26th announced 2000 and 2400 near-term job cuts, respectively. Not clear how many of these are in the USA, but their plants in Oregon will be affected, as will likely Microchip’s plant in Colorado. Layoff news from U.S. software companies & dotcoms also spiked in late February and up through so far in March. The U.S. “true” private sector (not Govt contracting, nonprofits, etc.) is now on pace to SHRINK WITHIN MONTHS IF NOT SOONER, even as the Rightwing Bolsheviks continue to hack on the Govt side.
