Let’s have another war!

(genius Republican idea #1077)

We now have confirmation from the U.S. Marshalls that hundreds of “January 6th” prisoners have been tortured, to include (among many other methods) being punitively denied water and sanitation.  That is, plumbing was shut off, as “punishment”, so that no one in an entire cell block could flush a toilet—for days!

It turns out, all those stories of local Washington, DC guards hating on “goddamn Trump honky crackers”, were true.  I wished to give the benefit of the doubt to my darker-hued brothers working the penitentiary system, but they didn’t deserve it.  You can even read about it in the Amazon (Washington) Post—that’s how bad it is.  Amazon wouldn’t touch it if it wasn’t.

It’s so bad that the Marshalls’ inspection of the DC city jail that the Feds have been paying to house these “insurrectionists”, was forcibly cut short.  The Marshalls were denied entry when they came back on the last day.  Yes, jailers working for a Federally-chartered, non-sovereign entity (DC is not a state) denied entry to U.S. Marshalls working under a Federal judge’s order to inspect their facility.  Nothing to see here!

Even without torture, to hold 400 people for nine or ten months—and counting, it’s indefinite—in confinement for nothing more than (in most cases) trespassing, while the Government “builds a case” because most of those people were arrested with insufficient evidence to convict, is something that would happen in Russia or Ukraine or (nowadays) Hong Kong.  And our State Department would be raising a stink about it.  They would be declaiming, “political prisoners!”

So what if they “stormed” Congress?  Protestors walk into key Government buildings all the time.  Just give them a summons.  You know, this happens somewhere in the world just about every month, and Uncle Sam is cool with it—if it suits his agenda.  In fact, Uncle Sam is often the instigator (I’m not even getting into the FBI’s agents-provocateurs who earned their keep on January 6th.)  And, we recall how Democrats cheered and covered for BLM/Antifa last year, to include freaking out over “Trump’s masked goons” arresting those suspected of assaulting the Federal Courthouse in Portland.  Naturally, all protestors are heroes until/unless they don’t fit the agenda.

Of course, we can be sure that most congressional Republicans have other priorities.  This past summer, I wrote that with the closing of the Afghanistan adventure, the grift must continue, and will likely be transferred to Ukraine.  Because the war machine just can’t stop doing what it does; the ice cream cone must keep licking itself.  Well, I was only half wrong—it’s not Ukraine.

Ukraine is not so interesting to the powers now.  It’s such an embarrassing clown show—still after all this time, ruled by a partnership of neo-Nazis and Jews or people of Jewish descent, ridiculous.  It smells, and most of our European partners don’t want to touch it.  Can’t get anyone excited about it, and Uncle Sam doesn’t want to be the only one out on that limb.  It’s just another country that he destroyed in the name of freedom, and lost interest in.  Yes, it is still being run as an American colony, but it’s only being given just enough money to hold up its pants and stay in the fight against Russia, not one cent more.  Moving on!

Now, the big shiny object is Taiwan.  It turns out, we already have U.S. military trainers in Taiwan.  This is how it starts.  It’s just getting started.  On this trajectory, naval ports-of-call are coming.  Then, permanent bases.  A lot of careers to be made, a lot of contracts, a new focus to justify expanding budgets.

Senator Hawley of Missouri has introduced a bill to give Taiwan $3 billion a year in weapons.  Not sell, but simply give.

Keep in mind, Taiwan has foreign currency reserves of well over $500 billion (just behind Russia), of which about $237 billion is in U.S. Treasuries—that is, the USA owes Taiwan $237 billion.

Taiwan has been a very good buyer of American arms, ever since Bush’s dad tried to shore up the Texas vote during his 1992 campaign by approving a sale of F-16’s in advance of a campaign speech at their Fort Worth production line.  (Previously, Bush had been ambassador to China, was a big China lover, and followed the Carter-era policy of selling no weapons to Taiwan.)

Per Reuters, Taiwan ordered over $5 billion of U.S. military goods just last year.  So, they’re quite capable of paying.  But now, Hawley wants to just give them stuff, by way of his “Arm Taiwan Act.”

Of course, it’s not really about the money—they obviously don’t need the money.  It’s about getting a foot in the door for a massive new commitment, the same way that Uncle Sam defended West Germany for 40-plus years during the Cold War, or stayed in Afghanistan for 20.  Again, the machine needs a new hobby.

Other members of Congress, from both parties, are talking about a bill to guarantee U.S. military involvement with Taiwan in the event of a war.

Remember, Taiwan is not even a country.  Uncle Sam has a “one China” policy, and that China is China.  Taiwan is just an island.  They have no seat at the United Nations.

Yes, U.S. electronics “manufacturers” source over half of their integrated circuits from Taiwan.  So, Taiwan is very important.  You don’t want all that industry going to China overnight.  But, doesn’t the U.S. Innovation and Competition Act—passed this year with 18 Republican votes in the Senate—provide $50 billion for grants to build new microchip factories here on our own soil?

If we get that going now, then by the time China is ready to invade Taiwan (up to three more years, supposedly), we won’t need Taiwan at all.  What happened to all that money, is it just sitting there?  It’s been five months already.  Everyone has forgotten about it.  Perhaps Hawley could get on that?

Like Obama used to say, “let me be clear.”  I couldn’t give a #$&@ about Taiwan.  And you know what else, I would be glad if the Chinese dropped an atom bomb on all our military brass.  If all the sergeants and corporals and cooks and janitors suddenly walked out of the Pentagon, yes please drop a bomb on it.  That’s how most conservative voters feel right now.

After the military occupation of DC, the “white guilt” brainwashing of the force, the vaccine mandate with no religious exemptions for servicemembers, etc., not to mention the disgraceful “hey nothing to see here” spin surrounding the tail-between-legs dash from Afghanistan, the military establishment has truly betrayed the country, and—in the famous words of Bill Clinton in his younger days—we “loathe” it.

If Hawley wants to “burnish his foreign policy credentials” by leading the charge against a New Bad Guy (China), the way that Lindsey Graham did against the Old Bad Guy (Russia), it’s not going to help his presidential aspirations like he thinks it will.

Hawley looks young, but he’s evidently stuck in the past.  Yes, Trump woke us up to China, but that’s an economic issue, it means we have to rebuild our own industry.  The party base has moved on from these stupid foreign wars and entanglements.

We know THE ENEMY IS RIGHT HERE, and we are angry.  Any Republican who tries to deflect from that, will NEVER be president—are you listening, Senator?  (Hawley’s staff is on my mailing list.  It’s unlikely but who knows, perhaps they will read this.)

In case the Senator has been asleep:

The Democrats are out for blood.  “Justice” was bent years ago, it is aimed only one way.  Creepy Merrick Garland is going after Project Veritas despite no evidence of any chargeable offense.  Meanwhile, Biden’s crackhead son sells his “artwork” to “anonymous buyers” for six-figure sums, and the lady behind the BLM Global Network website spends donor money on her own real estate empire.  Tens of thousands of small businesses (mostly Republican voters and donors) have been destroyed while the CDC literally takes direction from the national teachers’ union.  Millions are being put through a charade-parade of kiss-the-ring vaccine exemption applications, not knowing how it will turn out.  Tens of millions are afraid to speak their mind at work or on social media, let alone put stickers on their cars.  We are seeing “othering” and demonization of neighbors and coworkers like never before in our lifetimes.  The country has been tribalized like Rwanda.  The Left has openly set its sights on the last redoubt of conservative blogging, Substack.  They want total dominance of the Information Space, 5th generation warfare style.  It is unacceptable to them that random Trumpers and conservatives have any voice, any medium, anywhere.

Oh, incidentally, we don’t have a southern border anymore.  And these migrant “caravans” of tens of thousands now, may be in the hundreds of thousands towards the end of 2022 and thereafter, once the global natural gas crunch turns into a fertilizer crunch (most artificial fertilizers are made using natural gas) and then a famine across most of the world’s less developed countries.

AND HAWLEY WANTS TO RUN FOR PRESIDENT ON TAIWAN?

SENATOR:  YOU CAN’T DISTRACT US WITH THAT STUPID LASER POINTER ANYMORE, WE’RE NOT CATS.  YOU THINK PEOPLE WHO FEEL OPPRESSED,

WHO DON’T EVEN RECOGNIZE THEIR OWN COUNTRY,

CARE ABOUT TAIWAN?  YOU THINK THAT WILL HELP YOU?  YOU ANTICIPATE BEING ABLE TO BOAST YOUR FOREIGN POLICY “CREDENTIALS” AT SOME FUTURE PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE?  IT WON’T HELP YOU!  YOU’LL BE REMEMBERED AS THE GUY WHO FORGOT HIS OWN PEOPLE TO CHASE ANOTHER FOREIGN ADVENTURE.  THAT IS, IF WE’RE ALL EVEN STILL HERE TO TALK ABOUT IT.

PERHAPS YOU, SIR, ARE NOT THE GENIUS THAT WE ALL THOUGHT YOU MIGHT BE.  MY HUMBLE RECOMMENDATION, LOOK FIRST TO YOUR OWN HOUSE FOR IMPROVEMENTS.
