Folks…..
The problem with most…..
…..alt-pundit freakazoids, is…..
…..THEY HAVE NO CLUE HOW ANYTHING WORKS.
They ascribe motives that don’t exist…..
See things not there, etc.
It’s magical, medieval thinking.
Moreover…..
In focusing exclusively…..
…..on “geopolitics“…..
…..and/or on alleged, vast secret struggles…..
…..among (or within)…..
…..Western central banks…..
…..or other esoteric matters…..
…..that are conjectural, murky, non-verifiable…..
What they’re doing…..
…..is DELIBERATELY obscuring…..
…..their ignorance…..
…..and lack of understanding…..
…..about things…..
…..you can ACTUALLY SEE.
Dreizin, on the other hand…..
…..knows the U.S. system…..
…..as well as…..
…..(in some cases, better than)…..
…..most people…..
…..who CONSTITUTE the system.
As a Dreizin reader…..
You are one of the ELECT.
This weblog…..
…..is a GIFT and a BLESSING.
(In this issue, we have a special treat for you, a professional-level analysis of SB264, Ron DeSantis’ “No dogs or Chinamen” bill. It’s near the end.)
Just read, listen, and LEARN.
And if you can…..
…..give me some money…..
…..or at least, follow me on Twitter.
First, a quick clarification
I wouldn’t have thought to mention this, except that, one reader got confused, and he’s likely not alone. In my last post, in the audio, where I referred to a leading, Ukrainian psyops command-run, “fake Russian” Telegram channel, I was talking about the Grey Zone channel, NOT the The Grayzone, which is an American website.
Roles and division of labor at World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE)

The next few hundred words…..
…..are NOT about the Ukraine.
They are about…..
…..the U.S. political system.
If you haven’t heard…..
America’s number one “angry closet homo“…..
…..Lindsey Graham…..
…..visited the Ukraine…..
…..on Friday…..
…..and said, it’s great…..
…..and The Big Counteroffensive will be great…..
…..and the U.S. needs…..
…..to open its pockets wider…..
…..and provide more…..
…..of this, that, and the other.
And…..
I quote from video I just saw…..
(Not surprisingly, this was NOT in the MSM—it’s just too CRUDE, and awfully TONE-DEAF and PROVOCATIVE to people back home.)
“And the Russians are dying… It’s the best money we’ve ever spent.”
Folks….
I’ve written about this before.
You gotta understand…..
Graham is NOT the problem.
Graham is merely executing…..
…..HIS PERMANENT TASK…..
…..of holding up…..
…..the military-industrial end…..
…..of the national Republican fundraising effort.
If things get critical…..
…..as they did…..
…..when Republicans won the U.S. House…..
…..and launched some crazy talk…..
…..about “no blank checks“…..
…..for the Ukraine…..
McConnell gets involved.
As he did…..
…..at that time.
Even to the extent of…..
…..attending the Munich Security Conference…..
…..and issuing a brutal statement…..
…..along the lines of…..
…..(not verbatim, but close enough)…..
“We don’t care what our base thinks, we do what we want.”
OTHERWISE…..
…..if things are cool…..
…..then, Graham can handle it…..
…..on his own.
And, if you don’t like…..
…..what he’s saying…..
Well…..
You will hate him…..
…..while OVERLOOKING…..
…..that ALL Senate Republicans…..
…..benefit from his game.
(Because they are one party, just like the wrestlers on WWE are one company, they’re not REALLY individual heroes or villains.)
Likewise…..
Senator Mike Lee.
Lee has long been…..
…..the Republican POINT-MAN…..
…..for H1B visas…..
…..and in general…..
…..anything that brings in…..
…..immigrant labor.
Even though…..
…..this has NO direct relevance…..
…..to the joint committee that he chairs.
He makes the U.S. Chamber of Commerce HAPPY.
He makes the voting base UNHAPPY.
Again…..
If you don’t like it…..
You will hate Lee…..
While OVERLOOKING…..
…..that ALL Senate Republicans…..
…..benefit from his game.
(Because they are one party, just like the wrestlers on WWE are one company, they’re not REALLY individual heroes or villains.)
I could go on!
You see…..
A lightning rod…..
…..benefits the whole house…..
…..doesn’t it?
This game also has…..
…..ANOTHER version.
For example…..
Senator Ron Johnson…..
…..is really big…..
…..on problems with…..
…..(or arising from)…..
…..the vakk-seenz.
This has NO relevance at all…..
…..to the committee he co-chairs.
It’s just a pet project.
He says good things.
I’m not complaining.
NONETHELESS…..
Having Johnson speak on this subject…..
Allows Senate Republicans to feel like…..
…..“Hey, we’re covering this issue”…..
…..and provides sufficient…..
…..”Republicans are looking into this” material…..
…..for the likes of foxnews.com…..
…..Gateway Pundit, etc.
Even though, in fact…..
…..it’s only ONE of them…..
Which ALSO makes it difficult…..
…..for the MSM…..
…..to tar them ALL…..
…..as “deniers” or “anti-science.”
You see?
Everything is a game with these people.
It’s all ONE BIG ACT.
It’s like “pro wrestling.”
A bunch of “interesting characters“…..
…..but it’s all SCRIPTED and FAKE.
If you buy into it…..
…..you are a MORON.

Debt Ceiling, LOL
After demanding…..
…..HUNDREDS OF BILLIONS OF DOLLARS…..
…..in WHOLLY UNSPECIFIED…..
…..multiyear spending cuts…..
U.S. House Republican leadership…..
…..has reportedly settled…..
…..on a mere $10 billion reduction…..
…..in the multiyear, $87 billion pot…..
…..of NEW money…..
…..that the prior Congress…..
…..had budgeted…..
…..for the IRS.
LOL.
Also, there will…..
…..supposedly…..
…..be a “freeze“…..
…..on nondefense, discretionary spending…..
…..(not the military, not the intelligence complex, not veterans’ benefits, not Social Security, not Medicare, not Medicaid, not CHIP, not ACA subsidies, not interest on the debt, and of course, not any extrabudgetary items that may be coming, such as additional aid to the Ukraine)…..
…..(In short, the “freeze” covers as little as 1/3 of the Federal budget)…..
…..for fiscal year 2024…..
…..and just a 1% increase in 2025.
Of course…..
What they’re NOT telling you:
In Federal budget-speak…..
A “freeze” NEVER limits…..
…..annual cost-of-living adjustments…..
…..(“a raise”, possibly as high as 5%)…..
…..for Federal employees.
Bahahahaha!
There’s all kinds…..
…..of other gimmicks…..
…..and loopholes.
Such as…..
Government agencies…..
…..still having freedom…..
…..to spend preauthorized, multiyear funds…..
…..to their hearts’ content.
(It’s a game, they will spend as much “old” money as they can, then sit tight and wait for it to “rain” again.)
As for 2025 specifically…..
That’s so far away…..
NO ONE will remember…..
…..or feel obligated to…..
…..what was agreed upon, today.
This is all just “smoke“…..
…..to obscure Republican unwillingness…..
…..to attack SPECIFIC programs…..
…..or spending items.
Folks…..
Remember what I said…..
…..on May 12th?
I said it’s all an ACT.
I said they will FOLD…..
…..as they ALWAYS do.
I said they’re just doing it…..
…..to give their talk radio hosts…..
…..and other shitheads…..
…..something to yap about…..
…..so as to make their retard base…..
…..feel like they’re “doing something“…..
…..or “standing up for something.”
As always.
If you missed it…..
Here’s what I said:
How the Empire Machine REALLY works
I responded as follows…..
…..to a reader…..
…..who is convinced…..
…..that the USA deliberately sows…..
…..instability and chaos…..
…..as the first step…..
…..in reaching…..
…..any given major foreign policy goal.
(Typically, bringing some country under its wing.)
Here’s what I wrote:
You got nothing, just your own conjecture and preconceived notions.
Spend one month working in the broad foreign policy apparatus in DC, then tell me it’s a Chaos Conspiracy.
There’s no “plan” other than leveraging money and various organizational resources to seize turf.
As a spectator, on the outside, it’s hard to appreciate, because you’ve been raised on Hollywood and comics and Internet bullshit…..
…..and you can’t comprehend how the U.S. Government can be so incompetent, over and over…..
…..UNLESS the failure and chaos is by design.
I get it.
There are hundreds of millions of ignorants like you, worldwide.
But, it’s exceedingly simple. Almost every conflict, and every U.S. takeover (or attempted takeover) of a given country, is no different than the “cola wars”, Coke vs. Pepsi.
There may be a “moral” or “ideological” cover for the MSM to broadcast to retard voters (and they are ALL retards)…..
…..but at least 98% of those involved are doing it for a paycheck and career advancement and pension, and nothing else.
The upper 1-2% are doing it for those reasons AND to gain turf and prestige and leave a name for themselves…..
…..AND/OR because, as political appointees, they may be fired if they don’t “gain market share”, or at least, strive to keep their own offices/departments “relevant” (again, turf.)
(In fact, as a boss, you can’t NOT spend money, you’d lose your job. You simply MUST pay for military assistance or democracy seminars in X country, otherwise Congress will say, what the hell is this guy doing, get rid of him and give us someone else.)
The 98+% and most of the 1-2% would just as easily organize military aid to RUSSIA, if ordered to do so, if it made the White House and arms lobby happy. (Just as they did 80 years ago.)
They are not initiated into whatever the fuck chaos conspiracy agenda that you think is going on. There is no initiation. This shit is not taught at the Foreign Service Academy. There are no Illuminati.
Nothing has changed in the last 5000 years of imperialism. There is no more chaos agenda now, than when Egypt was first unified.
It’s sad that you’ve gained no perspective at all, from this blog. It’s just in one ear, out the other. That’s not my goal, here.
If you’d rather go back to Tom Luongo, I understand.
But if you want to keep commenting, you’ll have to give me another five bucks.
I should add…..
It’s MUCH CHEAPER…..
…..to take over…..
…..an ORGANIZED system.
Thus, breaking a country…..
…..the way the U.S. did to Iraq…..
…..is obviously NOT…..
…..the way to go…..
And, if it happens…..
…..it’s merely a result…..
…..of poor planning, incompetence.
NOT any “chaos agenda.”
Contrast Iraq…..
…..with what the USA did…..
…..with the Ukraine…..
…..in 2014…..
…..when it took over…..
…..one of Europe’s largest…..
…..and most populous countries…..
…..in literally a few days.
THAT was classic.
It was CHEAP.
The takeover…..
…..was from the very top.
It did NOT involve…..
…..a decade-long…..
…..”Nicaraguan Contras” type insurgency.
Sure, there were some years…..
…..of fairly laid-back…..
…..”prep work.”
Nothing chaotic at all.
And, when the time was right…..
They just walked in…..
…..and did it.
That’s how you do it.
(Of course, being as confident as the gods of Olympus, and not understanding Russia or Putin, they did not imagine “what comes after.” I told a very good friend, in 2014, that because of the USA coming in and bringing the country under its control, “the Ukraine will be destroyed.” He hadn’t been exposed to that line of thought in his NY Times or Wall Street Journal readings, so naturally, he thought I was nuts.)
DeSantis says: “No dogs or Chinamen!“
This is about SB264…..
The “Chinese, Russians, etc., can’t buy land in Florida” bill…..
…..which has been included…..
…..in DeSantis’ talking points…..
…..about his wonderful…..
…..(quote) RECORD (un-quote.)
Specifically, to provide…..
…..a “foreign policy” angle…..
…..to his “experience.”
You see…..
An American state-level politician…..
…..is ALWAYS at risk…..
…..of being called…..
…..”inexperienced“…..
…..in foreign policy…..
…..when running for Senate…..
…..or the Presidency.
Specifically…..
At a nationally-televised debate…..
…..against a candidate…..
…..who has “foreign policy experience.”
So, this is DeSantis’ attempt…..
…..to preempt that.
“In Florida, we cracked down on China blah blah.”
Experience!!!
LOL.
Of course…..
People are lazy…..
Most “Journalists” are lazy…..
And…..
No one wants…..
…..to sift through legislation.
It’s TEDIOUS!
Fortunately…..
…..this bill is quite short.
And, Dreizin went through it.
I can tell you…..
It’s clearly ILLEGAL.
And, they don’t care.
If it gets tossed by a court…..
Who cares?
That won’t take away…..
…..from DeSantis’ “experience.”
By the time the law…..
…..is fully adjudicated…..
…..in the courts…..
The 2024 election…..
…..will be over already, LOL.
OK, moving on…..
What’s in the law?
The law prohibits…..
…..the sale of any property…..
…..that’s located close enough…..
…..to any type of infrastructure…..
…..(in short, any property)…..
…..to:
Any person who is domiciled in a foreign country of concern (defined as China, Russia, etc.—Dreizin) and is not a citizen or lawful permanent resident of the United States.
Alright…..
Ignore the “domiciled” part.
That’s a tax and business term, irrelevant.
The problem, is…..
There’s a longtime legal tradition…..
…..whereby almost anyone…..
…..present in the USA…..
…..is a “U.S. person“…..
…..and…..
…..non-citizen, non-permanent-resident U.S. persons…..
…..enjoy, among other things…..
…..the SAME protections…..
…..against…..
…..Federal “protected category” discrimination…..
…..(to include, with respect to the “national origin” category)…..
…..as EVERYONE else.
And…..
There is NO WAY…..
…..that some lawyer responsible…..
…..for writing or vetting this bill…..
…..before it was voted on…..
…..did NOT know that.
Hell…..
DeSantis himself, probably knows.
Again…..
This law is ILLEGAL…..
…..and the present suit against it…..
…..WILL succeed…..
…..in Federal court…..
…..REGARDLESS of the partisan affiliation…..
…..of the judge(s.)
But, who cares?
It’s just temporary bubbles…..
…..and colored smoke…..
…..to give DeSantis…..
…..some “foreign policy credibility“…..
…..so that he can stand…..
…..on a debate stage…..
…..with Statesman Trump…..
…..and not look like a child.
This is how it’s done.
This is how it’s always done.
State-level attempts at…..
…..”foreign policy credibility“…..
…..are NOT new.
This one…..
…..just happens to be illegal.
U.S. real estate accelerating into intergalactic space
For a good credit borrower…..
With 10% down…..
The 30-year conventional mortgage rate…..
…..in most states…..
…..is now at or above…..
…..its October high…..
EVEN THOUGH…..
The 10-year Treasury bond yield…..
…..is still…..
…..(as of Friday)…..
…..quite a bit off…..
…..its October high.
What this tells you, is…..
There is MUCH more “borrower risk“…..
…..being priced in, today.
In any case…..
The real estate market…..
…..is so CRAZY…..
…..that if my wife and I…..
…..were to buy another house and lot…..
…..IDENTICAL to our current one…..
The total monthly payments…..
…..would be OVER TWICE…..
…..what we’re paying now…..
…..on the house we’re living in…..
…..that we bought ten years ago…..
…..and refinanced (most recently)…..
…..in 2021.
LIKEWISE…..
If we were to move out…..
…..and rent our home…..
…..to someone else…..
The rent…..
…..would be LESS THAN HALF…..
…..of what the renters…..
…..would pay monthly…..
…..if they BOUGHT our house.
This is nuts.
I don’t understand…..
…..how people can AFFORD…..
…..to buy, today.
Uncle Dreizin Wants YOU!
If you haven’t already, please sign up to my damn MAILING LIST! All this means, is that you’ll get my blog posts, in your email. I DO NOT mass-send anything but that. Please enter your email address, in the box below.
Comments Policy
I really appreciate good comments. Many people come back here, in-between posts, just to read the comments. If you help me entertain them, you’re my hero. A few rules: This is not a chat board. Your comment must primarily, largely involve and directly touch upon something that, or someone whom, I wrote about in the post you’re commenting on. Life reminiscences (if relevant), relating your relevant personal experiences, your job, your commie college girlfriend, your idiot family members, your Ukrainian coworker, etc., if relevant, are all HIGHLY encouraged. The most interesting content here… is YOU. The only exceptions to the on-topic requirement, are if you’re calling attention to a technical problem with the site, or briefly stating how much you love the content or this Comments Policy. Don’t try to “legitimize” an off-topic comment by throwing in some little pre-thought or afterthought about what I wrote. NO DISCUSSIONS THAT STRAY FROM MY TOPICS. My topics are the only common denominator here, and while it may amuse you, most readers have no interest in your thoughts on the Punic wars, or on some guy named Serge, or on how much you generally / generically don’t like the Ukraine and Zelensky; it’s your way to kill your own time, but it adds no value for others. Which means, if you’re responding to someone else’s comment, your response must still relate directly to one of my topics. Doesn’t matter how much you generously donated, these rules apply equally to everyone. 350 word limit, no exceptions, 351 words won’t be published, sorry. No rambling. If you’re not sure what “rambling” is, ask yourself, “Are others likely to understand and appreciate or enjoy my comment, or am I merely jerking off“? Nazis, commies, worshipful groupies of Mercouris/Johnson/etc., Jew baiters/haters, FBI agents-provocateurs, guys who forgot to take their Ritalin, passive-aggressive needling of the sysop or of other commenters (to include, by dipshits who think their attitude will fly if they mention possibly maybe potentially giving me money at some point—yes, “you people” are all the same), random questions that have no bearing on what I wrote (to include requests for my view on some commentator I’ve never heard of), no-punctuation writing by the smartphone generation, silly “Nadsat” lingo picked up from “The Saker” website, use of the BS term “SMO“, ALL CAPS writing (a sure sign of untreated autism), obsessives who just can’t leave a topic alone after they’ve already said everything (and just want to repeat themselves), and autistic bitching about the satanic USA and its evil pedo pervert elites and how they must be killed (or other bile in that vein), will not be tolerated. If you’ve got issues, this is not your “let it go” zone. Don’t write anything here, that your therapist wouldn’t approve of.
Just a recall of 2 phrases:
Sean Spicer (WH spokes) mentioned 3× in one session: “Destabilize Syria”
Klaus is not “pulling strings”. His phrase was “penetrating [sic] the cabinets”
LOL. That’s retarded. If any U.S. Government spokesman talks about destabilizing Syria, it is in the context of accusing Russia and/or Iran of destabilizing Syria. Not, “We are destabilizing Syria.”
Get a life.
So many crap artists in my comments section.
The Lindsey Graham video was actually spliced together from different parts by President Zelensky’s office (according to yahoo news, which posted the full video).
Knowing Zelensky’s modus-operandi I speculate they did it for the hype.
Hello. It was obviously spliced, for brevity. It was not misleading. He said what he said. Yes, they did a good job of it. I’m sure Graham is not complaining.
I’m with you that the majority are just doing it for the paycheck. They have families, want to go on vacation, buy an expensive house or a prostitute.
But … not all.
When bad things happen there are many reasons, not all mutually exclusive. These are: obedience/indifference, incompetence, corruption/money, malevolence, or will to power.
There are elements – and I’m not saying they are all always in agreement – on what what they want to happen.
Take the korona for example. The vyrus was a combination of malevolence and will-to-power (biowarfare), corruption and obedience (Faucci and the medical research establishment). The release either malevolence (intentional) or incompetence (accidental). The vakseen was will-to-power (test the m-ar-en-a platform), obedience/indifference and corruption/money (the medical establishment).
So although I agree with you that the majority of the low and mid level (and some of the high level even) are mostly doing it for the paycheck, the very top (0.001%) are not doing for that reason (they don’t get paychecks they cut them) even if they fuck things up.
Mr Dreizin
Though I find politicians nauseating for the most part, I must at least mention, and it may be pride on my part, that some of Senator Johnsons interest regarding the vaccine may result in my constant badgering by written, electronic and in person following the death of my wife of 47 years as a result of Mayo panic in their hospital system. She had a stroke and from needless caution never received proper care and she was warehoused in a “skilled nursing center” (used to call em old folks homes), they managed to find an opening at. She ended up being neglected while enjoying the smell of Pinesol mixed with urine such places often come with at no extra cost. She……”timed out” before planned procedures could be actually initiated. Fired nurses and doctors did not help in any of this.
I did send thousands of words, spoke thousands of words and even spoke many hundreds of words when granted an appointment with the Senator.
Again it may be my pride talking but at least I hope my badgering is one reason why Senator Johnson……or as we call him in Wisconsin……..uh, Senator Johnson is so active regarding the shit show the entire vaccine series of lies was.
Just saying.
I’m sorry about your wife. Your ten minutes with the senator were just ten minutes with the senator. He can meet hundreds of people in a week. He probably also heard from a bunch of karens who were shocked, shocked that someone in East Bumfuck wasn’t wearing a mask. And he certainly nodded his head and told them he was very concened.
Mr. Dreizin, I’d like to know what do you envision for our Republic if you are right that voting does not matter at all? That the system is beyond fixing and must get so bad that it crashes and burns and forces a fundamental change. Do you believe our Constitution is foundational to our country no matter what may happen to it? Or would we have to have a different Constitution or a whole different system? If am misrepresenting your position here, please correct me.
Hello. I’ve already written (quite recently) that the written U.S. Constitution has, demonstrably, always been irrelevant. The true constitution here is public opinion. Democrats figured that out a long time ago; conservatives are still stuck on stupid. It’s hard to have a conversation with people who confuse the U.S. Constitution with the Holy Koran.
Thank you so much for your response.
Ok I see. I think I understand, though, public opinion is such a nebulous form of direction. Hard for me to make sense of how that, as a principle, can guide a country, unless you mean a government that very much gets out of the way of people and we are more self-governing than governed. I assume America was at least in part founded on the desire to avoid a tyranny of the mob, on the one hand, and a dictator, on the other.
The opinion of a people will always ultimately be based on their character and what they value most or want to preserve. Hence, different systems of government in the world. Of course, people can change over time, but, traditionally speaking, I think our Constitution remarkably captured the American or, if we like, New European spirit or psyche that has a deep faith that we can live by moral, rational and spiritual law, or approximate that, by educated, moral and spiritual or religious men electing those that are also educated, moral and spiritual. Based on that, I see, as many do, the Constitution as a structure and guiding principle for improvement of the State.
I agree with you in part at least, though, that many times in our history the Constitution hasn’t meant anything to those in power. But yet it is still there.
Sorry, no you don’t see. You’re just repeating a bunch of religious dogma crap, sounds like a high school textbook. The document was irrelevant almost from the very beginning. Where is “judicial review” in the U.S. Constitution? Where do you see a national central bank in the U.S. Constitution? Where does it say that states can’t leave the union? Ever heard of the Alien and Sedition Acts, which suspended the 1st Amendment just a few years after the Bill of Rights was ratified? And I haven’t even gotten past the year 1865. It’s only gotten worse, since. The U.S. constitution works fine as a basic law about when to hold elections, and so forth. Beyond that, it’s like the Bible, “open to interpretation, or to be ignored as convenient.” That’s no law at all. What governs the USA is public opinion, however managed or massaged it may be.
Ok. Well maybe you’d like to do more posts at some point on why you think the Constitution was “irrelevant almost from the very beginning.” That’s partly what I was trying to understand from you. To what extent is it meaningless to you and if it is in any way a part of the foundation of America. Thanks for responding. I really do appreciate it.
Your answer is above.
Ok cool.
So, as far as I know, since the pandemic there’s been this debate on the right of whether all that were seeing is a matter of incompetence or malevolence. Seems hard to believe all of this is a matter of incompetence, but Mr. Dreizin, you are saying this is all matter of incredible incompetence.
I admit, I find it hard to believe it’s just weapons grade incompetence, but then again I used to think voting mattered too.
But I’ve finally realized that weapons grade incompetence is just about everywhere in the US now.
It matters, but not for its overt purpose. I somewhat disagree with the idea that magas in congress do not matter even if their small numbers go up. It forces the political class to expose themselves.
Yes there is incompetence, but bad things tend to be more linked to perceived self interest and/or some level of coercion even if by irrational donors and voting blocks. Most of the politics is a pretense. I also suspect that shadymail dinglings are heavily involved…………….
Comment was good, up to here. Had to delete the rest, it was pure rambling.
In almost every country, the response to the Chynavirus was guided by the netted-out needs and wants of various interest groups, whether organized or diffuse.
In the USA specifically, the Democrats (and their media) who wanted to get Trump, the karens who wanted to exert power over their husbands, the teachers’ unions, the drug companies with their revolving door into govermment, academics who must maintain their government research grants, the private medical bureaucracies, Fauci & Co. who needed to run forward and deflect from their own role in the monster’s creation, etc., etc., proved to be far stronger, at the national level, and in many states, and likewise more vicious and aggressive, than any “freedom party” (which, of course, was not even organized until AFTER the epidemic was already under way, while most of the opposing interests were ALREADY well established.)
Many countries (esp. Europe) followed the USA’s cue, because they follow the cue on everything (reference the war against Russia.) However, this is more complicated because some of the larger ones got hit very hard before the USA did. As for Canada, Australia, and NZ, these had similar interest group dynamics to the USA. (Of course, minus Trump.)
Thanks to the USA’s federal structure, Republican governors in some states were able to hold out, because the interests that I mentioned, were, in their states, weak or (case by case) nonexistent, and thus were outweighed by business lobbies as well as a general “so be it” mentality prevalent among conservative Christians, among other factors.
That’s all it was. There was no overarching, evil global conspiracy to launch a virus so as to bring on totalitarianism, shrink the population, etc.
The fact that some party-throwing Swiss German asshole with a very large rolodex, likes to talk about population control and whatever else, does NOT mean he is pulling any strings.
Likewise, Bill Gates’ foundation doing pandemic wargames in 2018 or 2019 or whenever, doesn’t prove squat. Stuff gets gamed out all the time. They probably ran those simulations every few years. It’s a thing. Films about crazy killer epidemics have been popular since the 1990s. After the zombie craze launched by The Walking Dead in 2010, some organization even modeled out how long it would take for a zombie plague to cover the entire USA. That was in the news. In fact, it was even done for entertainment in the DVD “bonus feature” to the Dawn Of The Dead remake in 2004.
This is simply not unusual.
ALSO…..
Geert Vanden Bossche, not well-known in the USA but nonetheless tied with Robert Mallone for “world’s #1 anti-vaxxer who actually knows what he’s talking about”, worked for the Gates foundation shortly before the Chynavirus, and claims to have still been in touch with Gates personally (that is, in-person) in 2021. He has said NOTHING about any conspiracy. With respect to the vak-seenz, he has spoken of Gates as a well-meaning person who drank the kool-aid.
The “Gates conspiracy” people have a major “dumb and ignorant” problem.
Thanks. Yes, that it was an hysteria that many used to their advantage as opposed to a conspiracy is a good argument and makes sense. Certainly very convenient for the Davos crowd, Agenda 2030, Bill Gates, the Globalists and all communist-minded Democrats as it all seemed to fit so well with their agenda. The fact that some in power have pulled back when pushed and become defensive is a sign that it was hysteria and opportunism.
You are right about the uncomfortable fact that there is no overarching conspiracy creating chaos or whatever other imaginary or illusory master plan “the elites” have for the world. That’s just a reassuring story people tell themselves because it’s more comforting to believe someone is running the world, even if they are evil. That way we can believe that identifiable humans are in charge and can, at least theoretically, be overthrown and replaced. The truth is more uncomfortable. The people up on the bridge deck steering us through the iceberg field are more concerned with their next career move, preoccupied with petty workplace grudges or rivalries, trying to meet an unrealistic schedule set by the head office, daydreaming about some lost love or sexual fantasy, poorly trained, bedeviled by a faulty connection with the engine room, didn’t clean their binoculars, just trying to stay awake, hungover or worse. And the band played on.
Brilliant. I will quote you.
Thank you for speaking the truth. Have you considered setting up a subscription plan like through substance?
So, basically it’s the blind leading the blind?
Close, it’s the blind leading the deaf, with the stupid looking on.
I’m stealing that LOL.
More like dynamics of self-interested entities. See:
[1] Self-licking ice cream cone
[2] Jerry Pournelle’s law of bureaucracy
[3] Warren Buffett’s law of institutional imperative
Having observed different types of bureaucracies around the world, I came up with my “Iron Rules for Bureaucracies” many years ago. To wit…
Primary Directive: Extend and protect the bureaucracy.
Secondary Directive: Read primary directive.
Hanlon’s razor, an adage or rule of thumb that states: “never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.”
We signed our home mortgage contract with the bank on the last week of January 2022. That was fucking lucky. Fixed rate, of course, even though the imbecile at the bank kept insisting we should get a variable one. The bad news is, the country where we live just added this nice article to its constitution that says “L’exercice de pouvoirs de l’État peut être transféré à l’Union européenne et à des institutions internationales par una loi adoptée dans les conditions blablabla” For those of you not able to speak frogspeech, it means “your property rights, and any other rights, will mean shit the moment we decide to declare the next emergency”. So maybe being forced to rent instead of buying is not that bad of a situation after all
I may rent the rest of my life because owning a home is just one more hassle to deal with in the event it’s time to escape.
I admit that I had to run a a web search on “Tom Luongo”. But I only had to scan the first couple screens of headlines to understand that I’m not interested in what he’s selling.
David Bowie? The Man Who Fell To Earth? I’m gonna have to see if my guess is right. As far as the foolishness of the election/misdirection is concerned…. What else is new! People always seem to hem and haw about the politicians being “stupid” when in fact I believe they’re smarter than the average bear by a long shot. Why? Because they’ve taken their plays from their old well-worn playbook and continue to get away with it. That’s not stupid… that’s wicked smart. Real estate prices are simply insane. I couldn’t even touch a one bedroom apartment for the cost of what my mortgage is. Just got the property assessment and the house has gone down, in their eyes that is, by about 70k in the past year. That’s fine by me seeing as I had no intention of selling and then being saddled with an insane mortgage bill all over again.
Hi Jacob,
Nice posts and nice responses… congrats.
Regarding realestate, thank you for including that in your discussion.
I spoke to my bank manager last week (regional bank)….
30 yr fixed mortgage 8.5% with 2 more rate hikes to the end of the year to 9 to 10% then stabilizing.
Savings account 0.025%
Money market account 0.1%
7 and 13 month cd 4.65%
The housing market in my area is no longer a sellers market, it’s a push-pull dynamic.
This regional bank is doing much better than the industry over all when you look at their stock charts, which are in a downward trajectory.
So, my impression with your refi in 2021 is that the bank is upside down on your mortgage. They’re loosing money on your loan….congrats again.
The housing market is in such a fluid state, it’s difficult to understand it at present.
Housing prices have to come way down which will probably begin to happen after this year’s rate hikes.
If you are in the states, you can get nearly 4% in savings accounts in many banks.
The entire world is in Fake It Until You Make It mode. You aren’t going to make it so just keep faking it.
I hope that what I write fits to this article, since it is about political rhetorics.
Right now most of the western world is in Gleichschaltung – I am surprised to which degree. You have to say certain things, otherwise you are not part of the team (that relates, as Jacob mentioned, to all public issues actually).
My beautiful Banana-Alpenrepublik however, is officially militarily neutral. That did not prevent the stupid ass foreign minister and others to use “sharp words” against Russia, sometimes even stronger words than some NATO countries use. Since they are the personification of “stupid ass” they thought that the Russians would never react and only treat is a typical Euro mumbo jumbo, but somehow remain friends.
Guess what, last week the Russians for the first time disagreed with the Austrian foreign minister, when he said that there are still some kind of “informal contacts” – Nope, there are none.
Some 40 years ago we had a cool prime minister called Bruno Kreisky. Despite being Jewish he even talked to the political descendants of the Nutsies. The magical word was compromise. Because of him Austria was one of the centers of diplomacy. These imbeciles today are ready to destroy everything just for the “sharp words”.
This whole system in place in the west reminds me of the ‘good old’ socialist days. Then we had to go to vote for someone noone knew a thing about from a list where everyone on the list belonged to the only party there was. But hey we had elections so we must have been democratic
You mean with a geriatric, but uncritisable Leader, with cars you must wait for years… Nah, its definitely not the case. And its not like you have to eat bugs. Oh, wait :)))
You mention the type of people obsessed with the image of “bankers secretly conspiring ” and I can immediately hear the “talking through the nose” voice of the “This is Sparta” half of the Duran channel endlessly speaking about “The Niyo-Konz”.
.
“Don’t die, but eat some shit. Thank you. ”
It’s 5:35 in the morning and I’m already laughing. Thanks Jacob.
Stay healthy and alive as long as possible. Live out me at least, man. Thanks for your insights about America, Bro.
If you think about it, playing a bloodthirsty warmonger on TV is the ultimate beard
It is a one party system and corrupt to the core. Every last congress person is useless to me. And this applies to my governor, state legislature and even my community HOA, who are a bunch of very weak, led by the nose hairs “men”.
” .
So, what is the way out of this?
Hope you can help here, Dreizin?
I’m an outsider based in the 51st state (we pride ourselves on being the most progressive of all the states and colloquially call ourselves the nation state of Canada) so I’d ask that someone please explain to me how that douchebag Graham keeps getting elected. WTF is wrong with the people in South Carolina?!? I get that he’s only one cog in the much bigger fucked up political machine but he’s so uniquely repugnant that I can’t process it. I’ve been watching him since his Ukraine butch act back in 2014 and he’s grown more disgusting every year.
Thanks for asking. The answer is simple. The majority of Republican primary voters in South Carolina are RETARDS.
Once in a while, when he’s not pushing for more wars, assassinating Putin, or demanding amnesty for illegals, Graham does a few high visibility things that please Republican voters. So, when people get in the voting booth, they figure he does redeem himself somewhat. Plus, South Carolina voters might be as Russophobic as he is! He is a disgusting man and South Carolina voters need to toss him or else look like they approve of what he’s saying.
The other choice was Jaime Harrison (chair of the Democrat National Party) who won 44% of the vote. Would he have been better? Perhaps he would have. Not voting was an option. There is no love for Graham, but there also was no reasonable alternative.
Primary voters.
I would say that ( I´m european) that the reason people do not care too much, it´s because there´s no real/visible consequences from the people of South Carolina ( even USA) about the actions of these elected clowns.
Exception was 9/11 and we all remember what came after that!
Cheers from Portugal.
Lindsey Graham, Nikki Haley and Tim Scott, all from South Carolina.
Must be something in the water. Or retards as Jacob says.
Jacob, what would you say the best place is to track mortgage rates over time? Bankrate doesn’t go back to October. You may be amused to learn that the insurance company for which I work is getting offers to take on a profitable credit-risk product which for some bizarre reason is getting discontinued by the big players. This tidbit about the gap between 30-year rates and Treasury rates will hopefully be glaringly obvious enough to convince even a program director. Out of curiosity, could you share any other historic leading indicators of mortgage/ credit card defaults? Thanks.
I think Trump is smarter than DeSantis.
That’s like saying that a chicken is smarter than a duck; both are still fucking stupid. Politicians are only able to get away with it because the people they preach to are even dumber than them. There is no democracy, elections don’t count, and a politician always wins what’s nothing more consequential than a beauty contest. How many times do you have to be raped to say: “That’s enough!”
Trump is the ONLY person ever elected US President who had not already been either a senior government official (elected or appointed), a Continental Congress Delegate or a successful general. To do that he had to knock out a bunch of RINOs including the latest Bush and then defeat the Hildebeast, who had a guarantee of winning direct from Satan.
He also knew going in that he would be a target for the deep state. The continuous and treasonous government lawfare against him are now known to everyone.
There’s just a chance Trump is a good deal smarter, and more courageous, than you.
It’s obvious even to the blind and the dead that Trump did not know what he was walking into.
Trump was an outsider who had the means and the popularity to overcome the rigged system in 2016. Democrats and Republicans did not take his candidacy seriously. In 2020 they did and the results are in the Whitehouse. Trump ambushed them in 2016. Trump believed the system was REAL and legit and I believed it with him. Once in charge, he got schooled and so did I. Better awake than woke any day of the week.
Amen.
Thanks, you just helped make my point. You should have added that Trump was the ONLY game show host ever elected as president, which says more about the US electorate than I ever could.
And Ronald Reagen was a B movie actor. The show must go on.
Actors are very popular at the moment.
Maybe because they know how to read a script?
There’s a guy on the interwebs famous for saying
“Politics is show business for ugly people”
Rush Limbaugh said that long ago.
Was Ronald Reagan an actor prior to presidency?
President Reagan was also the President of the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) and a reformed democrat. When asked why he left the democrat party he quiped that the “democrat party left him!” Similar to President Trump’s battles with both parties, President Reagan when asked why he does not start a third party he astutely retorted “Why dont we start with two first!”
Before, during and after. The greatest President actor of all-time, although character Bidan is no slouch.
Yes
He is the clown that brought ‘trickle down economics’ to America and sowed the seeds for the massive wealth disparity that now exists. You need a good actor in charge to allow you to fundamentally warp society in favour of the super rich.
Nonsense, just old Democrat talking points.
Reagan severely accelerated the decline of unions, and presided over a new bipartisan consensus of “guns AND butter”, but otherwise did not hugely warp anything.
What brought down the house was the culmination of outsourcing and globalization with NAFTA and then, even more so, bringing China into the WTO (all fully bipartisan efforts, at the behest of the business lobbies.)
That’s so obvious now, I shouldn’t even have to point it out.
I lived in Hongkong from 1985 to end 1991. I did business with and visited China dozens of times from Urumqi in the northwest to Nanning in the south to……………
Off topic, deleted. I wrote about political acts; discussion naturally jumped to the actor Ronald Reagan… and no further, sorry. Your story is very interesting, but you must read my Comments Policy.
Exactly. Tough to maintain a middle class with a minimal manufacturing base. There was a lot of talk about bringing some of that back stateside at the start of the pandemic during the shortages. Not hearing it anymore. Americans have short attention spans.
