Yo D, I’m 2 seconds into the podcast and my blood’s running a little cold. Your jawline is popping! (Bloated Dreizin is gone – sorry to put it so straightforwardly) you’re the smartest guy I know, so guess it’s time to get our economic, physical, and spiritual sh$t together.
But dude, his teeth…
Any thoughts on ESET I believe they are a Slovakian company and I prefer them to NORTON or MACAFEE which are bloatware and I actually question if they were deliberately designed to be craptastic software.
Any thoughts on Avast or Nod as a substitute for American anti-virus?
Having lived through the trauma at work dealing with Norton and
McAffe I concur with Jacob: both are shyte!
Jacob, excellent podcast with Mike! I’m one of those you refer to when you say to vote if you want to, but it won’t change things much no matter who is elected. I think you are probably right that it is beyond the power of a president to change things much, and we have Trump’s first term as evidence of that, but I choose to live with that hope. Thank you again for the podcast.
Edit: As far as foreign policy goes, I think Biden has made quite a difference, and for the worse. Perhaps the bad thing coming from the outside will be a real war instead of a proxy one, and this time against an enemy who could really hurt us. I hope Trump will change policy. There is some evidence that he might.
The best way to get rid of antivirus software for good is Linux. I use Windows only time to time in case I need a program running only under Windows. Install Windows/Linux dual boot and you will be happy.
Excellent video. Comments on Norton were priceless and thanks for not pursuing the “conspiracy” explanations for the Trump shooting.
Please keep covering US politics. Those of us in Europe are part of the US / Washington empire, even if few want to admit it. The geopolitics is only explicable if one can at least try to make sense of US politics.
Yes, it wouldn’t be Dreizin if you started going down conspiracy rabbit holes, then you would be the same as all the other propaganda jokers out there whoring themselves for more followers That’s the difference between you and everyone else , you stick to facts and then extrapolate something relevant from it .
My penny drop moment was the waking up in the morning and “ taking your cue” , that was gold . I turned that back on myself . Thanks .
I do find the reformatting of the USA very concerning. To me since corona the whole world feels like a pressure cooker.
I guess all you can do is get your house in order.
Amen to all this.
You could always move somewhere with a smaller chance of being reformatted, or with less chance of being hit by a radiation cloud.
I live in Australia ,it’s still a good place to live .
We will all be affected no matter where we are on this planet and it’s obvious some places will cop it worse than others .
Jacob, another amazing piece, really enjoyed it, thank you.
Gold!!
As usual, 2-3 steps ahead.
Good job Jacob, especially on such short notice.
Just wondering about the ceremony of donning (pun intended) the MAGA hat. Any meaning you want to impart aside from your explanation on the Podcast?
I’ve had the MAGA cap since 2019 or 2020, and I finally just felt like wearing it, for once. I’ve never worn it in any video before. But, I promise, this won’t become a habit!!!
LOL excellent pun (habit)
I tossed mine.
Hi Jacob. Thank you for the information on Kaspersky. I do use Kaspersky but I guess not for much longer. I used to use Eset. They are out of Slovakia and I know the Windows 7/8 versions were written in assembler. I don’t know if that practice has been maintained. I will consider switching to Eset. I’ve also used BitDefender. I felt it was a better product than Norton/McAfee.
Great podcast. I like it when the talk includes the possibility of future financial problems and how that can be the next crisis.
Yes! Thank you Jacob & Mike!
When Mike asked if “the powers that be” are going to make him step down, and you responded with “who are the powers that be?” … then promptly called that idea stupid, I thought maaaaaaaybe Mike was going to be asked to repeat the tard’s prayer. Which would have been epic, by the way.
Bahahaha. 🙂 🙂 Mike has hosted every crackpot blogger under the sun, and most of them use that kind of conceptology, and he can’t help but be influenced. He tries to keep it sober with me, but in this case, he slipped up.
I am not sure on the condition of the east coast power grid, but the midwest region is rather robust and a lot of money is and has been put into it over the last 20 years. Ever since the northeast blackout, there has been a policy change on grid operation. I don’t see the grid being in as bad a shape as people say. It was really bad pre-northeast blackout.
The east is a mess.
I can’t speak for other areas of the Midwest, but here I’ve lost power 5-6 times already this year, which is more than my prior few years back here combined.
I don’t know what part of Michigan you live in, but the U/P has had major improvements. If you live in the MISO (Midcontinent Independent System Operators) footprint, your power grid should be vastly improved. That is the region I was an operator. PJM, which is a large portion of the Northeast, isn’t as good.
One last side note, Transmission (100kV & above) is heavily regulated. Distribution has very little to no regulation.
All I REALLY know, is what I consume. When my wife and I first bought our home in northern Virginia in 2012, we NEVER had any half-day-long (or longer) power outages, that is, not because of a tree going down over a line down the street, but “just because.” And even if there was a storm, we’d get power restored very quickly. The last few years, “just because” is GUARANTEED to happen, at least several times per year, and sometimes not just in the summer. ALSO, it could be the climate, but there’s no longer enough juice in the grid, to support properly functioning AC during the hottest summer days. It’s quite clear that local system capacity has not been expanded to meet the increase in population, and that the system is slowly losing whatever fortitude or “room for error” that it had. I don’t need any expert to tell me that.
Getting the same here in LA. Doesn’t matter what time of year it is, 1-2 hour power outages happen on average 6-8 times per year. Same with cable internet, except it’s more ‘bursty.’ 1 outage a week for 4 weeks then it’s fine for a few months. Wasn’t like this before WFH / COVID
